Climate change poses the largest environmental threat ever known by humankind. At DevGRAD, we aim to promote sustainable practices voids of environmental negative impacts by engaging the developing communities in the transition to a green economy. We support enterprises in the South and advocating for sustainable environmental practices such as preserving biodiversity, discouraging deforestation and promoting adaptation practices. Waste recycling management and resource efficiency for a sustainable circular economy are at the core of our advocacy in the developing community. Our focus is networking with the organization in the North in collaboration with enterprises and individuals as well as communities in the south to pilot and establish circular economy based initiatives at different scales.
In Addition to promoting the development of a circular economy, we also support the entrepreneurs in the South with opportunities to access green finance in their businesses and increase profitability and also provide support for them to access climate finance mobilized under the international climate finance facility and other green finance instruments. In addition to the obvious advantages associated with the circular economy, meeting the environmental and resource-efficiency challenges will bring about socio-economic benefits in terms of human health and well-being, as well as initiating growth and creating jobs.
